新季剧情讲述Synth的意识被全面觉醒的一年后，有所分裂的英国正处于人类及Synth之间那不太安宁的和平里，然而当一个Synth组成的社区建立起来时，两方希望达致的稳定将受到威胁。Synth一行人Mia﹑Niska及Max（Gemma Chan﹑Emily Berrington及Ivanno Jeremiah饰演）将继续为生存而奋战；而人类方Joe﹑Laura，他们的孩子Mattie﹑Toby与Sophie（Tom Goodman-Hill﹑Katherine Parkinson﹑Lucy Carless﹑Theo Stevenson及Pixie Davies饰）则在努力接受这全新环境。。In the near future, Norway is occupied by Russia on behalf of the European Union, due to the fact that the newly elected environmental friendly Norwegian government has stopped the all important oil- and gas-production in the North Sea。
