本片乃张彻导演的武侠神话电影，描述汉末三国分立，魏武帝曹操（白彪），初为汉相，挟天子之令诸侯；东吴孙策（赵国），骁勇善战，据有江东，人比项羽，称之小霸王，与曹敌袁绍联盟。时有道人于吉（程天赐），修练「神通术」，以符水治病，甚得众心，人称「于神仙」；孙以于妖言惑众，执而囚之，以时正天旱，令其求雨，不得则杀之。于果嘘气成雨，众皆罗拜，孙更怒，立命斩之，但于道术已成，被斩元神脱体飞出，反戏弄孙……。In this bitingly satirical film Peter Slovan, a continuous source of trouble for the film functionaries of the socialist Slovakia, tackles an evergreen topic – the corruptive effects of power. Barnabáš Kos, a triangle player at a symphonic orchestra, is suddenly promoted to serve as the head of the said institution, even though both he and his superiors deem him completely unfit for the task. Encouraged in equal parts by this unexpected recognition and the servile praise of his colleagues, Kos’s modesty starts to gradually vanish. The erstwhile bashful and aloof percussionist quickly becomes aware of the advantages of his new office, and begins to realise his increasingly ludicrous artistic ambitions. Ultimately, the submissive marionette turns into a source of public humiliation, and his astonishing career finds an abrupt end. Orchestra serves here as a microcosm that grotesquely reflects the absurd and tragicomic mechanisms of the paranoid apparatus of power.
