现代日本出现“锈蚀之风”，以东京爆炸洞为中心，在全日本不断吹拂，风化一切事物，摧毁文明。锈蚀之风出现的原因已不可考。人类为了生存，在各县边界筑起防风高墙，围城在日本成为常态。而东京、埼玉等以前曾经繁荣过的城方，则已经成为“北埼玉铁沙漠”等人类不能生存的地方。锈蚀之风亦会令人类患上不治之症“锈蚀病”。 赤星毕斯可是人称“食人菇赤星”的“蕈菇守护者”。他为了寻求传说中能够医治锈蚀病的灵药“食锈”，跟师父贾维从群马前往忌滨。。There is a geography of miracles.
